INfire founder Marcus Young was recently featured on the WGNS RoundTable with Dr. Bill Kraus for an extended interview on the realities of working in conflict zones and the challenges of building peace through reconciliation.

Drawing from more than 30 years of experience across Myanmar, the Philippines, and Somalia, Marcus spoke candidly about the long, often painful work of helping communities heal after violence.

He discussed INfire’s efforts to reach those affected by civil war, child trafficking, and intergenerational trauma — including children as young as one year old and former fighters struggling with guilt.

Throughout the conversation, Marcus emphasized that the path to healing is often forged through love and forgiveness. While acknowledging that this approach can be difficult and costly, he shared examples of how individuals and communities have begun to change through it, from tribal leaders and trafficked youth to those once involved in armed conflict. 

“At the end of the day, it takes God to help you love an enemy,” Marcus said during the interview. “And it takes God to change a situation.”
